I have always had an interest in photography and always carried a compact camera everywhere with me, but there always seemed to be more important stuff going on in my life so I never really took photography seriously. In 2010 I decided it was about time I upgraded my camera to something better and bought myself a Nikon D3200 which was a crop sensor 24mp camera, but owing to illness I found the weight of all new kit was rather too much and got rid of it all. This sounds somewhat drastic I know but it wasn’t long before I replaced it with a Micro Four Thirds camera - a Panasonic Lumix GH4 then, later on, a G9 which is my current camera and I absolutely love it. My passion is nature, in particular flora and I love using flowers in my studio/back bedroom as part of my still life projects and I am also enjoying experimenting with Photoshop to achieve different effects to enhance my images. I am a new member to Wolverhampton Photographic Society joining only last year (2018) but I have learned such a lot and they are a great bunch of people. I have also plucked up the courage to enter some of the competitions and I really appreciate the feedback from the judges as it helps me to grow.
