Although my first attempts at recording photographic images were achieved by creating prints, I wasn’t
really attracted to the printing process because it seemed you were in the hands of whoever did the
processing and it was their results which determined the look of a final image. Therefore, when I was
introduced to photographs as slides, or transparencies, I was much happier. The projected image impressed
me greatly and I then graduated to an Olympus SLR camera.
Joining WPS gave me the opportunity to see the work of some renowned photographers, and judges in club
competitions who made helpful comments. With the dawn of the digital age I acquired a Canon digital SLR
which gave the opportunity to experiment with the wonders of computer software and there were now
endless possibilities to enhance images with various techniques of manipulation.
Most of my images have been recorded whilst indulging my other interest - which is to see the world! Using
my many travel images I have developed my photographic skill to produce Audio Visual sequences and offer
presentations for various groups and this has enabled me to use my hobbies to support local charities.
