I joined the Wolverhampton Photography Society in the late 1990’s not exactly sure which year.
I won my first competition in the season 2000/01 when I won the Outings Cup with a camera I borrowed from Len, my husband.
After a while I had my own Camera, a Canon 300 film camera ready for a holiday to Canada. A tour from Montreal to Vancouver in
September 2001.
A few years later I had my first Digital camera a Canon EOS 350D
I entered a competition at the National Memorial Arboretum at
Alrewas. It was their first of what is now an annual event.
A few weeks later I had a letter inviting me to the presentation
of the Awards so Len and I went along and I was shocked to win
the first prize with a photo called The Eleventh Hour which I’ve
included here. The prize was a Benbow Trekker Tripod which
was presented to me by Kay Alexander who used to read the
news on Central TV - perhaps you might remember her. She was
also one of the judges of the competition.
I still take pictures today and enjoy our trips in both the UK
and abroad. Always with a camera not far away.
