WPS Competitions and Results

The Society hold a number of competitions during the season for both slide and print workers and we encourage all members to participate. The competitions help us strive for that better or "slightly different" image and encourage competitiveness in our work. The evenings are well attended and are an ideal opportunity to hear judges comments (both positive and negative!) on your work.

We now run both "Advanced" and "Novice" competions on the same evening, which have proved very popular.

DPIs - (Digitally Projected Images) DPIs must be submitted in accordance with the DPI Competition guidelines which can be found HERE. Points series entries are limited to two images per member, per round. Each image will be projected as presented with no post-submission manipulation.

Images must be submitted no later than one week before the competition to the WPS DPI Facilitator on CD or Memory Stick clearly marked with your name or, if you prefer, you can e-mail them directly to competition@wolverhamptonps.co.uk

These rules supercede any previous DPI submission rules

ENTRY FORMS and PRINT LABELS

For entry forms for the Points Series Print competitions please download the Adobe Acrobat sheet from the link here: Print Competition Forms (this gives you 8 forms). This sheet can be completed by hand. It needs to be handed to Mike Piper at least ONE WEEK before the print competition itself. Additionally you need to label the back of your prints (as described above). To simplfy this we have created a downloadable label in both Word format and as a pdf. The Word version can be downloaded and printed out onto self adhesive labels, Avery reference no. L7165 (8 labels per sheet). The pdf version can be simply printed onto plain paper, completed by hand and stuck to the back of your print.

The fully completed print labels should be securely attached to the back of each print approximately 50mm (2 inches) from the BOTTOM in the MIDDLE of the mount. This will greatly assist in the smooth running of the competition and any subsequent entries into external competitions.
